Muscatine Visitors

We were delighted to welcome Rev Dr Pam Saturnia, our Princeton Intern, in 1989-1990, back to Groomsport along with a group of 20 members of First Muscatine Presbyterian Church in Iowa where Pam is minister. The group are on a pilgrimage through Scotland and Ireland exploring Presbyterian Heritage and Celtic Spirituality. They battled high winds and Storm Ashley to get to Groomsport for morning worship, arriving in Northern Ireland on Sunday morning after a few days of delayed travel plans.

The group were very appreciative of the tea, coffee and homemade scones in the Hub on arrival with us. Then David and Maureen Irwin gave the group a brief outline of the history of our church and our links with the USA before they joined us for worship.

It was a brief visit as they quickly set off to explore the Titanic Museum and Belfast before heading to Corrymeela on Monday.
