MISSION & outreach

Jesus said to love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength and to love your neighbour as yourself.
As a Christian community here in Groomsport Presbyterian Church we seek to reflect this in our lives and our prayerful support for others.
We live in an imperfect world but Jesus came alongside all those in need without fear or favour. Our mission is to everyone whether near to us at home or to the distant corners of the earth.
We support the mission of our church by regular giving to our Mission Fund, United Appeal, World Development Appeal, Christian Aid, Tearfund and Moderator’s Appeals.
MISSION COMMITTEE
We have a Mission Committee made up of a small group of enthusiastic members.
The committee aims to raise the profile of mission within our church by having a short monthly presentation called ‘Mission Focus’ during morning worship.
We hold coffee mornings and organise social events to support various projects and organisations.
These include, Storehouse North Down, International Meeting Point, Belfast Central Mission, Leprosy Mission NI, Open Doors, Hope Christian Trust and many other local charities.

We enjoy a warm relationship with our sister Presbyterian Church in Knysna, South Africa and take a keen interest in their outreach work. We are blessed by their weekly online service produced by their minister, Rev Tim Hawkridge
