Presbyterian Women held their Christmas Party on the 10th December. Supper and entertainment was provided by the PW committee and there was a visit from someone very special. A good night was had by all.
Friday 6th December, Service Led by Rev Paul Dalzell. Reading by Rev Duncan Pollock and Rev Dalzell, poems by Ellis and Summer McWhinney. On the steps with Lady Sylvia Hermon and Mayor Richard Smart for the switch on of the tree lights. Afterwards there was a supper in the Walter Nelson Hall with a special guest. Event and supper organised by Groomsport Village Association.
On Saturday 1st December Groomsport Presbyterian hosted a Family Film Show. The movie was Elf and there was plenty of fun and things to eat and drink on the day. Prizes were given to all the children who dressed up and everyone went home happy.
Celebrational concert held to say thank you for the long and excellent service of the choir and John Ekin, the choir master and organist. Special guests were the Miskelly Chorale.
On Friday evening 19th October the Police Voice Male Choir (incorporating the RUC GC Male Voice Choir) and guest artistes visited Groomsport Presbyterian Church for an evening of music and entertainment. The choir started the evening of in true traditional manner, followed by wonderful singer Hannah McKay. By the end of the evening the Humble Folk Group had everyone tapping their feet and signing in time to some well-known songs. The proceeds of the ticket sales and a collection on the doors will go to the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance service. This event was organised by The Tuesday Club supported by Ards and North Down Borough Council and enjoyed by many as there was barely an empty seat in the church.
