The Mission Committee are supporting the Restore ministry of Habitat for Humanity in Newtownards. They help people to set up home after leaving abusive relationships or other forms of crisis.
Items donated to the warehouse in Newtownards are available for sale. The stock contains household equipment from mugs and glasses to chairs, tools, tins of paint and toilets.
People leaving care or abusive relationshio may be granted accommodation which is usually completely empty. They can get help from Restore volunteers with paint and the provision of basics like a bed, a chair, a table, a kettle and some mugs.
As well as the usual tea and coffee morning we are having handbag sale.
Since Sunday 4th July there has been a large black box beside the Storehouse trolley. The handbags you contribute can be left there on Wednesday mornings or Sundays. Our intention at present is to gift any handbags which are unsold to local charities. Your support would be appreciated if we are to make a success of this event.
So if you have a handbag (in good condition) you no longer need or want to buy a new one your support will be greatly appreciated and will benefit many.
